“Education toward Freedom”
Cultivating Creativity and Community to bring
Waldorf Education to Indiana
Who We Are

This is a supportive community dedicated to the ideas of Waldorf Education.  We aim to bring “An Education towards Freedom” to Indianapolis. Waldorf Education was initiated by the ideas of Rudolf Steiner with the opening of the first Waldorf School in 1919.  As it has evolved to meet the needs of different cultures and time periods, Waldorf Education continues to be a living model, responding to the needs of the individual, society and our earth’s environment.  By attuning to the development of the human being and its needs at different stages of life, Waldorf curriculum supports the physical, creative and cognitive faculties in children, awakening their inherent wisdom.  If you feel drawn to these ideas and would like to learn more, we welcome you into our community.

Getting Involved

Our community is a grassroots organization.  If you believe in seeing a change for the better and would like to create it, this is a place to start to make that happen.  Waldorf Education holds at its core, a belief in the spirit of initiative, inspired by love. Members have participated in a wide range of activities through the years and the programs become active because of people becoming involved who feel drawn to teaching or leading with the Waldorf philosophy.  We trust that you will share your talents in a way that can help our efforts create meaningful growth for our children.
